About Hiromi

Creating a legacy.

Growing up in Canada, I struggled with my identity and wasn’t proud of who I was or where I originally came from.

As I grew older I started becoming more proud, especially seeing representation of different cultures more visible. I started to embrace the origins of both my Parents, my father from Japan & my mom from China.

Designed with Meaning.

I have an obsession for design, inspired by my aunt in Japan, who is a famous dress designer making clothing for luxury brands. And the artistic background inspired by my father, my Gung Gung (Chinese Grandfather on my mother side) and their work. With all of this, I hope to create products you can feel comfort, welcomed and help to support inclusion as well.

Inspired by my Father.

In my 20’s, I began to love and teach Karate, re-learning from my father, Kancho T. Okuyama, who is a Karate Master. I was always intrigued with his calligraphy which is revered around the world. And now AVAILABLE to you through the products we sell.
